The part nobody says out loud
After enough years of clothes that don't fit, a woman stops thinking the clothes are wrong. She starts thinking she is.
That is a manufacturing decision you have been carrying as a personal flaw. Somebody picked one body and called it standard. It was never you.
What I do
Most of what walks through my door is something somebody already bought. My job is to make it fit the person, instead of asking the person to fit it.
The signature service
You found something you liked in your size. It still isn't quite it. Bring it to me and I'll rebuild it: reshape the silhouette, move the seams, change the neckline, make it a piece nobody else owns.
Not a hem, and not starting from scratch. It sits between the two, and for most people it is the fastest route to a wardrobe that actually looks like them.

I'll make it yours.
The pile in your trunk. Pants, sleeves, waistlines, zippers. Drop it off, pick it up, wear it. Prices posted, no appointment needed.

Zipper broke Saturday night and the event is Sunday. Every cleaner in the county is locked. I'm not. Evenings, weekends, the night before.

See the scheduleHow it works
You don't need to know what service you want. Tell me the date and what you're bringing. I'll take it from there.
One
Pick a time that works, including after work. Bring the garment, or bring the idea. Tell me the date you need it by.
Two
Actual measurements, not a size on a tag. We decide together what the piece should become, and you approve it before I cut.
Three
Try it on before you pay the balance. If something is off, it goes back on the table. You leave with it right.
Meet your threadsmith
"I have watched too many women leave a fitting room apologizing for their own bodies."
Carla Bennett is a mom, an entrepreneur, and a fashionista born and raised in Detroit. She picked up the passion as a teenager and never put it down. Primarily self-taught, then sharpened at The Art Institute of Dallas.
These days she serves St. Lucie County out of Port St. Lucie, mostly in the evenings and on weekends, which turns out to be exactly when people discover a hem has come out and everyone else has gone home.
Her goal has never really been clothes. It is building community through sewing, and teaching people how to present their best selves to the world.
Book Your FittingThe agreement
Handing your clothes to a stranger is a small act of trust. Here is what you get in return, every time, without asking.
In their words
Real clients, real occasions, real deadlines met.
"Carla didn't just alter my dress. She changed how I feel wearing it. I have never gotten so many compliments."
"Her classes gave me a skill I'll have for life. Patient, talented, and she actually likes teaching."
"The gown she made for my daughter's quinceañera was breathtaking. Exactly what we pictured, only better."

How far ahead you actually need to book, by event. Wedding, gala, cruise, quinceañera, graduation. The most common reason a garment doesn't get finished in time is that nobody told the client when to start.
Tell me your date and I'll send it, plus a note if your window is tighter than you think.
